Hello,

if I leave a 1.5V battery overnight in the NTG-2 the battery is empty in the morning.
The mic was not connected to any device. Is this normal? Do I have to move the battery out of the mic if I store it?

I used the NTG-2 with phantom power before, so this issue is new to me.

That surprises me a bit. I normally use my NTG-2 on phantom, so I just put the battery in when required and remove it when finished but I wouldn't have expected it to be drained overnight. Still, the product manual does say on page 6:

• It is recommended that you remove the battery
from the NTG-2 when the microphone is not in use
as current is drawn whenever a battery is installed.

I believe Rode says in the manual that a penlite should last for a 400 hours, so it isn't normal. I have used the NTG-2 with a penlite a few times and never had a problem. I think i only used 1 penlite in a month or so.

Peppo, is that a rechargeable battery that's maybe not fully charged? Or.. you have problem and need to call your RODE dealer.

Cheers.
