Well I am in the process of selling off my last Rode NTG-2 as I dont see using a 18" mic with a 9" HD7 :)

My question is what external mic are you all using? I am pondering either a Sennheiser MKE300 or Rode Videomic.

Do you have any suggestions of other options or which one do you recommend for use with the JVD HD7?

Well no one had any suggestions but I found a Sennheiser MKE-300 on ebay for $85 so we will see how it works, being Sennheiser I dont think it can be bad.
