Not entirely sure what I'm asking here, but here goes:

Having just been mesmerised by the Lionel Richie video for "Just Go":

Lionel Richie Official Website (http://www.lionelrichie.com/lr/video/video.html)

(bottom row, centre)

which is incredibly hypnotic if watched often enough, is there a chance to get a "Master Class" for this stuff which disects just how they did it?

I'm trying to figure out what it was shot with, what lighting was used etc.

Are there any experts here on DVinfo who know?

Audio: well, what a mix!

Extremely clever, however they did it.

Anybody game to wade in and say - "this is how it was done"?

I see posts here, there and everywhere about DVinfo-ers doing music video's, is it about time they had a dedicated forum slot?

Nope, I don't shoot 'em myself (got a tad long in the tooth for that) but sure as heck would like to know how it's done, what it costs, and what's involved.

Mesmerizing isn't a word I'd use to describe this video, nice track though it is.

It looks like a pretty standard, VH1 friendly video to me. Far too many dissolves for my liking, but some nice lighting.

As for technique, It's difficult to tell on such a low rez image but it was probably shot on 35mm film with prime lenses, even though some of the set-ups have a noticeable 'video' feel.

I certainly can't see anything out of the ordinary. There's a lot of backlighting, a few lens flares and some simple track and dolly moves, but that's about it. What was it that particularly impressed you?

Just want I needed to hear.

Was quite taken with it (as was the client) but wanted to put it out there for some third party info (as I said, this IS NOT my area of expertise).

Guess we won't quite be doing that then.
