I need to rent a jib for an upcoming 2-3 week long shoot. I'm looking to rent one that uses rear control, with a pan/tilt support at the camera-mount area. A reach of 8' would be ideal, although anything from 6' to 12' would probably suffice.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Videoscope has jibs to rent, even has student discounts.
You can find them at Videoscope - Rentals (http://www.videoscope.com/rentals/rentals.htm)
Hope this helps.

Hi, I work at Videoscope and noticed that this web link still gets hits (this august) - but it goes to our old/gone website so it dead ends. The current link is EZ Jib | Videoscope (http://www.videoscope.com/camera-accessories/ez-jib).
Inquiries are welcome.
