Ok, so I'm completely finished with editing native HDV files, they just get ugly when you try to do anything to them in post.

It looks like the best thing to do is get Cineform. I'm looking at NEOScene and I'm wondering if that would be a good choice for my equipment and workflow.

CAMERA:
Canon XH-A1 and about to get a 5D MkII

NLE:
Premiere Pro CS3

COMPUTER:
Q6600 @ 3.0Ghz
ASUS P5E WS PRO
4G of ddr2 800mhz RAM
XP PRO x64
Nvidia 8800GT

Also, do I need a RAID setup to properly run NEOScene?

Thanks for your help!

I have the 5D Mark II and NeoScene works great with Vegas Pro. Check out Videoguys.com for a good price and get another $10 off if you sign up on their site first. I am running Vista 64 bit on a newly built I7 Asus P6T PC.

You certainly don't need RAID for NeoScene. Should run fine with CS3 and a Q6600. (I'm running CS4 with a Q6600).

Its a good product. I edit my 5DMII footage with it all the time now & it saves much time in my workflow.

I will also agree with the earlier post - buy it from videoguys - it will save you about 30% over buying it direct from Cineform.
