Now if only they could make their EOS camera models' functions remote controllable through the Canon SDK, so that they could be serious digital image acquisition tools. For example, it is impossible to precisely control aperture size and exposure time remotely, in order to acquire time lapse and high dynamic range images with the digital EOS cameras. At the moment, the Canon G3 and G5 are the best cameras for any automated remote image acquisition--but these models do not have interchangeable lenses.
