Hi Guys,
quick question from a potential FCP user. I have alway edited on a PC using Premiere and a Canopus card, which accelerates the rendering process and give a lot of real time effects. I am soon going to move to HD and am looking at options, FCP on a decent Mac being one of them. However, I cant seem to find any info on hardware accelerators for Macs, in a PC I could use a Matrox RTX2 or Axio. Can you tell me if theres any equivalent kit available for Macs, and what would the rendering time be of a project around 1 and a quarter hours long with a dozen or so simple transitions. If theres no accelerators available, I asume the faster the Mac the quicker the render, btw I will want to output to DVD at the moment. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am not really up to speed on HD and the latest NLE kit in general, and any advice would be really helpful.
