Yes - just not in your Z7U. Same record time as miniDV.

Keith,
These are LARGE DVCAM tapes not the small ones; Sony on their web site is listing high definition ones as required??? not HD

S270 can use take the large tapes.

As far as I know from my experience, these cameras don't care what the sticker on the tape says, it will record DV, DVCam or HDV on any tape that fits inside.

I think just about anyone will say that you don't NEED to purchase "HD" tapes, but many people will say to find one brand of quality tapes and stick to that brand.

I shoot w/ Panasonic Master Quality miniDV tapes, about $6 a pop. Expensive for miniDV, but about 25% the price of "HDV" tapes.

I use PDV dvcam recycled tapes to shoot HDV with my S270 all the time.

Marius,

Your question was if the DVCAM tapes will record HD - and they will (HDV, at least.) Whether they fit in your recording device is another matter. Record time for HDV is identical to DV.

FWIW we use the Panasonic AMQ tape - again, good for DV/DVCAM/HDV.
