There are many different inputs now available. In many applications, there are several choices. Are there differences in quality if everything else is equal?

I'm talking about:

HDMI
HD-SDI
Component Analog HD
DVI

Feel free to add others. Help me understand this alphabet soup!

Thanks

HDMI and DVI are simply shape/pin differences, with the exception of the audio channel (DVI doesn't carry audio.) HDMI can be adapted to DVI with a cable or adapter.

Can HDMI or DVI be adapted to HD-SDI? With or without a converter box?

Ed,

I found this article very helpful. It explains about the different connectors, etc.

Enjoy.
