My SD card blew up as I was downloading the files from my HDC-SX5. All the individual MTS files are okay in the Stream folder but the Clipinfo and Playlist folders are empty and I cannot open the MTS files to view them or import them into my editing software. Is there any way I can recreate the Clipinfo and Playlist files, or can I open the MTS files some other way in order not to lose them ?

I can't think of any NLEs that I've played with that can't open .mts files. Are you sure they are OK? What editor are you using? You certainly don't need the other files to make use of the clips within current NLEs. One possibility is that though the clip dir looks ok, in fact the directory itself is corrupted.

Try just copying the clips somewhere else.

Thanks for the advice. Since posting my original query I have been able to open the mts files using Ulead VideoStudio 11.5 so problem solved. My earlier editor appeared to need to the Clipinfo files as well.
