Hi, I've been reading through the posts here to see if there might be a sort of "review" of e-onsoftware's products.

I'm looking at investing in Vue 7 Infinite (e-on software - Vue 7 Infinite (http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/vue_7_infinite/)) to create animated natural environments. I'm a nature and wildlife videographer and to demonstrate certain scenarios, a replication of a geographical location in 3D would be the perfect tool for helping viewers to understand a certain point.

I've got the Ulead 3D Production Studio software, and find the learning curve very steep. Has anyone had experience using this software and is the learning curve steep or is it relatively user-friendly?

I would appreciate hearing your thoughts about it.

Yes, I have done a few big projects with Vue Infinite and it's a very impressive package. The "Ecosystems" are really cool. There will be a steep learning curve definitely, and there are plenty of bugs to learn how to work around (or at least there were in the version I used 3 or so years ago). But I did enjoy working with the software, and wish I had time to continue on some personal projects.

Rendering big projects at HD resolution is going to take HUGE amounts of time, and may not be practical using only one computer. E-on has their own forums and you can find a lot of useful information there. However I'm not sure if you will be able to access them if you aren't a registered user: http://www.e-onsoftware.com/support/forum2/viewforum.php?f=2

If you are willing to invest the time, it's a great package. But don't think you can dive right in and start doing animation overnight.

Thanks for your input Boyd. I checked the forum and yes I have to be registered first to view it. I've already made up my mind that it would probably take the same time to produce a 3D animation sequence lasting about 15 seconds, as it will to edit footage down to a 23-minute video!
