David Bass March 9th, 2009, 02:36 PM my battery pack has a mini 4pin in terminal which i can get fairly easily over here in the uk but where can i find the sony dc plug [yellow] in to make a short cable from my bat pack and into the dc in of the camera.
Only want it if and when the batteries run out but would be a failsafe option.
Any suppliers uk preferbably
David C. Williams March 9th, 2009, 04:08 PM Try searching for EIAJ04, which is it's proper designation.
Andrew Stone March 9th, 2009, 06:16 PM Vortex Media (http://www.vortexmedia.com/DC1.html) makes a ready made adaptor for this. It's in the $40 USD range. Well made. Saved my bacon a few times. It gets used regularly.

I'm looking to buy some myself, but the CPC shipping charge is silly. I'm in Leeds where farnell is based, so I'll try to get something from there...

Ronnie Martin March 13th, 2009, 01:21 PM What I need is a power tap plug that fits my sony v mount battery on one end and the sony dc plug on the other.
Anybody seen anything like this? Or the other possibility is an adapter to allow the use of the Sony v mount batteries on the camers.
Thanks

If you buy the non Sony V mount batteries they can be had with a D Tap. That makes life so much easier powering a light etc.
Ronnie Martin March 13th, 2009, 02:59 PM Thanks for your reply Buba: I noticed on one of the sites you recommended that there was a device that appeared to fit in the conventional EX-3 battery opening that allowed the
Anton Bower type battery to fit on the back of the EX-3. Is there something like this for the Sony V type battery?

Thanks Bob... Only problem is that I already have a bunch of Sony V mounts.

Derek Reich March 13th, 2009, 06:22 PM Ronnie-
If you want to use v-mount batteries on your camera, check out the Bebob adapter for v-mount batteries. They are extremely well engineered, and mount very solidly to the camera using the screw mounts under the shoulder pad and the cold shoe on the back of the camera. (it even provides another cold shoe so you don't lose one from the use of the mount) And, it provides two D-taps and FOUR hirose power taps. I have one on my camera and love it. Be advised however that you will not get battery condition information in the VF from anything but the stock Sony batteries.
Here is a link: bebob COCO-EX3-V V-Mount Battery-Adapter for Sony EX3. (http://www.bebob.de/en/product/8717.html)
I would highly recommend this for anyone using a v-mount battery. I have the IDX Endura 80s, and one of those will run my camera with two wireless receivers all day.

yes, you can select mount type and model EX1/3 or Z1
i wonder if coco EX3 will work for EX1, I think it should, it's the same bp u30/60,
can anyone confirm?
many thanks!

We now offer both XLR4 and Cigarette style 12V cables for Sony EX1/EX3.

Unfortunately, the COCO EX3 mount only works on the EX3. While the power requirements would work, the mount itself is designed specifically for the EX3. I do not know of a v-mount available for the EX1, but there's probably one out there....
