I keep my XHA1 in a petrol pccb1n bag. It holds everything and accessories. I am taking a trip and will be carrying the camera a good part of each day and want to be able to put the camera away at times (eating, actually not using it, weather protection, etc.) but I dont want to carry this petrol bag. I was thinking of a backpack, but not a specialized one for a video camera. just a regular backpack with a pocket big enough to hold the camera. Dont need accesories except mybe a tape and battery. What would you guys suggest? I'm thinking of just putting some foam in it to wrap the camera while its in there. or even wrap it in some bubble wrap. This will just be used for some walking around, nothing physical, no hiking or anything like that.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Howard

You could buy a large block of foam and either cut out the center to nestle your camera, or glue blocks together around it to form a customized protective shell. You can use contact cement in a spray can, available at all art supply or hardware stores. Spray it on both surfaces, wait util it dries almost completely then bond them together for eternity.

I once did something similar to use a regular backpack for a laptop by buying three foam pads (for kneeling on while gardening) and a tube of glue at the dollar store. Total cost: $4. :-)
