Pentax X70 - full specs and image! - PentaxForums.com (http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-news-rumors/52847-pentax-x70-full-specs-image.html)

Going to retail for $400. Sounds like they have a digital stabilization feature (which is optional).

Movie shooting in high-definition TV image quality and with anti-shake protection
The X70 captures high-quality movie clips, equivalent in image quality to that of high-definition TV (1280 x 720 pixels). It also features the Movie SR mode,*** which effectively minimizes annoying camera shake during movie shooting through the use of exclusive software. As a result, the photographer enjoys high-quality, blur-free movie shooting with minimal effort.

** When the Movie SR mode is selected, the angle of view becomes narrower than normal shooting.

Makes one wonder if Pentax will come out with a DSLR w/ HD video, given they're in Nikon's boat (no pro video division to protect).

As I understand it, they have some alliance with Samsung? Samsung today announced (Again) their answer to Micro-Four Thirds and claim they'll have a camera shipping this fall.

Thus Pentax may be working on an APS-C camera that fits the bill.

In referring to Samsung's responce to u4/3rds, do you mean this?

The key word is "equivalent" in my limited knowledge of marketing smokescreens that's equal to fairly good SD resolution video imaging upscaled to 720P. But we will see when the manuals and test arrives.

But, I would love to have more really good bridge cameras with good HD video with proper coding.
