Hi Andres. I wouldn't expect that you can record to just any firewire hard drive direct from the camera. Normally you need a special drive that has a controller inside, to convert the video data into files that can be written to the drive. The controller also recognises the start/stop commands from the camera so that it doesn't just record all the time.
