Alright, when i insert a tape into my xl2 it says set for erasure prevention. So i take out the tape to make sure it is not locked, its not locked. So i re-insert it back into the camera and it still says that it is set for erasure prevention. Then i switch tapes to see if it is just the tape, and it still says set for erasure prevention. Searched manual for it and it is no where to be found. Need help quick, i use the camera everyday, really need to figure this out, thanks in advance.


Exact Message Reads: "The tape is set for erasure prevention"

Assuming the tapes AREN'T set for erasure prevention - that is, the little green tab is NOT opened on the tape - then the sensing pin on the camera is jammed/broken. Needs to be repaired.
