I have turned off detail as suggested in here and noticed that I have to dial up the peaking knob in order to get the coloured peaking effect - does this make sense or there is no connection between detail off and peaking?
Would turning off detail is basically turning off sharpening or will it affect other aspects of the image?
Thanks,
Ofer

This is normal and expexted. Peaking works by finding sharp edges and contrast. Without that edge enhancement from detail, it has to work harder...

It happens on the big cameras too. Some of them have VF horizontal and vertical detail detail levels too, but not sure about the EX3, which makes the VF image sharper/more enhanced.

I have been working with detail off in my EX3 for all project that I am shooting in 25p (wich is pretty much off of them now!!!). I set my camera to give me plain white vf peaking. Depending on shooting conditions, I tend to adjust the peaking to suit. Not too enhanced, just right to see image 'snap' into focus.
Ofer try to adjust yours to suit your shooting conditions.
