Catherine Russell February 19th, 2009, 10:12 PM Thank you Chris!
Not that it very much matters, but I have uploaded a revised version of my entry just about an hour ago (8 p.m. U.S.-MST 2/19) to the UWOL server, since Maryem extended the deadline a week.
If it doesn't make it over to DV Info, no worse for the wear!
cheers,
Cat
Marj Atkins February 19th, 2009, 11:15 PM Hi Chris just downloaded your movie and all I got was a pink screen and your soundtrack. Haven't had this before. Anyone else had problems downloading the movies from here?
Chris Swanberg February 19th, 2009, 11:32 PM Thanks Marj..... I do have it up on Vimeo too. There is a link on my site page for that. I know that one works. I will try and duplicate your problem on the DVInfo site.
Chris Swanberg February 19th, 2009, 11:46 PM Marj...
plays for me on QT. Hmmm...
Chris
ps. I like the vimeo post better anyway.
Per Johan Naesje February 20th, 2009, 12:25 AM Hi Chris, and thanks for the link to the films!
There seem to be something very strange happen to the list of films! At the bottom of the list there is a film named: muskox3.mov
How this film has landed in this folder at The UWOL Challenge - Wildlife & Outdoor based film competition (http://www.uwolchallenge.com/longform) (uploaded: 17-Feb-2009 19:28) is a mystery to me! I have not uploaded it, never!
Kevin, Mat, Meryem please enlighten me how this film has landed in that folder?
Marj Atkins February 20th, 2009, 12:27 AM Thanks Chris - problem probably at my side then. Will try your vimeo version.
Kevin Railsback February 20th, 2009, 05:45 AM Per,
No idea. Maybe someone used it as a test or something when the IP changed.
I just move stuff from one folder to another. I don't pay any attention as to what it is.
I'll take it out of there if it's not Long Form related.
Kevin Railsback February 20th, 2009, 05:46 AM Cat,
Moved your file and overwrote the old one.
Catherine Russell February 20th, 2009, 10:07 AM Thanks Kevin:
You're the greatest!
Cat
Per Johan Naesje February 20th, 2009, 10:32 AM Thanks Kevin! Just delete the musox3.mov
Dale Guthormsen February 23rd, 2009, 08:03 AM Is there a current list of uploaded videos??
Marj Atkins February 23rd, 2009, 10:18 AM Just to let you know I am still battling with downloading from here which has never happened before, so I am unable to do comments on the movies that are posted here until I sort it out.
Bob Safay February 23rd, 2009, 11:10 AM Chris, I uploaded mine yesterday, did it come through? Safay_TheGalapagos_LongForm Bob
Chris Swanberg February 25th, 2009, 12:54 AM Bob...and all...
I simply helped create an easy "pointer" to the site's listing of long form films... and it seems to stay updated as OTHERS (like Kevin) do the work. And yes Bob I see yours is there, but not because of anything *I* did ! (grin) But I'll happily take the credit. I need some insurance for a rainy day.
I have certainly enjoyed seeing the early "place holders" and can only imagine with excitement how these will improve over time.
Chris
Kevin Railsback February 25th, 2009, 05:47 AM Since they moved the IP on us, I've had issues with being able to do things. Sometimes the files show up so I can move them, other times it doesn't allow me to get into any directories. Still other times it shows there are no files. Talk about panic on a stick! :)
The change came at a bad time as we were just getting into the first phase of the long form.
If you upload any videos just post here that you did and I'll see if I can move them into the long form directory.
Thanks for being patient. I'm not sure if we're out of the woods yet or not. :)
Annie Haycock February 25th, 2009, 06:19 AM I uploaded mine about 12 hours ago - it's not showing on the index.
Marj Atkins February 25th, 2009, 06:42 AM Hi Kevin
Uploaded mine yesterday - also not showing on index.
Marj
Kevin Railsback February 25th, 2009, 03:40 PM Ok, let me go in and see if I can find them. This IP move has created a lot of havoc and I don't think we've seen the last of it yet.
Kevin Railsback February 25th, 2009, 03:42 PM Holy smokes it worked!!!! :)
Ok, did I miss anyone?
Kevin Railsback May 12th, 2009, 03:23 PM I'm moving the long form files into the longform directory.
Bob, I had to add a 2 to your filename since it was the same name as the other one. :)
Chris Swanberg May 14th, 2009, 01:59 AM Kevin, I uploaded tonight...
Jeff Hendricks May 14th, 2009, 04:26 AM I uploaded this morning...it still before midnight in Johnston Atoll :)
Kevin Railsback May 14th, 2009, 04:31 AM Ok, I was finally able to get back in. For some reason when I get in the directory it shows that nothing is there. But everything in there has now been moved to the long form directory.
Jeff Hendricks May 14th, 2009, 07:55 AM Kevin,
Do you happen to see mine on there (Hendricks_The Pilgrimage)? it ended up finishing loading at around 3:45am Pacific time
Thanks,
Jeff
Meryem Ersoz May 14th, 2009, 08:11 AM go to sleep early one night and the pixies pull it together to make everything work.
the hallmark of success is to make yourself irrelevant...
just fyi, Cat, I didn't extend the deadline...I told everyone who has a good excuse to contact me and plead their case...
...so of course, half a dozen of you did...that's how it goes when you open that door a crack!
I don't/didn't want to extend the deadline because then long form bleeds into short form and that is not fair to the short form....
I built these deadlines this way for a reason, even though no one ever believes that there is method to my madness....
Catherine Russell May 14th, 2009, 09:22 AM O.K. Meryem!
I laughed at your fyi directed at me. Why single me out? I'm thrilled that your good graces are covering this forum. That means when I need a little slack, hopefully I can successfully plead my case in an e-mail too!
Now if you want to get sticky.... which rule was it that says you must submit at least 7 minutes of material for every round except the first? Hopefully we can plead our cases in an e-mail on that one too ;-).
I love this forum!
Cato

I like that! In a pinch I'm more successful than I ever thought I was! ;-).
