So... does this setup use ground glass for the focal plane and a macro lens on the Canon, like a crazy DOF adapter for a still cam?

Yeah, I don't quite get this one..... I thought whole purpose of the 5D MK2 was to avoid such contraptions. But maybe this provides ultra shallow depth of field, or maybe we are being funned with...

The glass was removed from the 5x7 back. I bore out a piece of nylon & inserted a lens extension (which was my only out of pocket expense). No lens on the camera.

I did it just to see the results from the old lens and to hopefully see if they still contained some magic.

The camera was in portrait mode so I will have to convert the video to landscape in FCP.
