That is mighty slow Mark Von Lanken February 17th, 2009, 11:25 PM Hi Martin, Yes, the servo zoom is slow. I mainly use manual zoom to zoom in and get focus or to reframe the shot. I don't know what you are currently shooting with, but the manual zoom on the Sony Z1 is a little slower than the HMC150. The manual zoom on the Canon XH-A1 is a lot slower than the manual zoom of the HMC150. The main time I use the servo is during the ceremony and special dances. Does your shooting style require you to use the servo or the manual zoom? I do like the fact that the manual zoom is a real physical zoom control where many other models are just an electronic control of the zoom ring. Yes I know there is an operating instruction on this camera, but I'd like to see a tutorial video explaining how to use this camera? I considered making a DVD tutorial, but did not know if it would be a good investment of my time. Do you have a specific question that the Von Real episodes did not answer?
