Rechargeable AAs are consumer batteries. If you're looking at the Steadicam Pilot, and you don't already own pro batteries, then the choice is basically between the Pilot-AA and the Pilot-VLB package. If you're powering just the Steadicam Pilot's monitor, the VLB gives you around 8 hours per charge, and the AA gives you around 4 hours per charge.
