I recently got my Canon Xl1s back from the repair shop, and thankfully the camera is no longer eating tapes, but i am still having a problem having my iMac read the firewire signal from the camera. in VCR mode the camera has the "DV IN" logo, but Final Cut, iMovie, & QT PRO are all ignoring the camera, yet my friend's Power PC Powerbook g4 had things working just fine....is there something with the intel macs and the xl1s that just dont mix?

My XL1s works with iMovie 8 and Final Cut Studio 5 on an Intel MacBook Pro. Does the device show up in the Apple System Profiler? (Apple Menu->About this computer->More Info->Firewire)
