I'm looking to rent or buy a wide angle lens or adapter compatible with a Canon XL2 (preferrably Century Optics.) I'm shooting a scene that resembles a security or surveillance camera. I already have a 14X manual, 3X wide angle, and 20X IS lens. Should I use a fisheye, or would that be too extreme?

Thanks for any info.

I'm shooting a short with a Canon XL2 for entry into the Florida Film Festival. I am looking to obtain the following equipment for use from April 4-7, 2006. My location is in Orlando, FL and I'd prefer to rent this gear rather than purchase it.

1. steadicam or steadicam w/operator
2. camera jib
3. 3-point lighting

Please let me know if you have any of this and what it would cost to rent. We're also looking for extra help if anyone would like to be a part of this short.

Thank you.
Charles

We've upgraded to a flat screen teleprompter, and are selling our CRT-based unit.

This is a free standing 13" monitor with reflector, lens hood, stand, etc., in excellent condition. Set up in front of the camera and connected to a laptop with a composite video output, it allows the talent to read a script, while appearing to make direct eye contact with the audience.

The teleprompter is available for inspection in Brooklyn.

Asking $500.

Feel free to contact with questions.

Every thing in the box, and in perfect condition. This comes with the box also. I am also inculding some wireless mics and a rain cover with this. I has only had a couple of weddings shot on it and looks like you just took it out of the box. Price is $2,200. Also get an extra large battery and wireless mics, I think that they are sampson mics.

I just purchased a Sony Z1u and will not be using my other camcorder, the PDX-10. I have had the PDX-10 for one year and used it a couple of times at my daughters plays, etc. I have all the instruction booklets.

The readings on the camcorder are:

Operation 7 x 10
Drum 3 x 10
Tape 3 x 10
Threading 5 x 10

I also have the following:

Sony 2.0 Teleconverter lens VCL-HG2037X
Tiffen .56 Wide angle Converter
Cinetactics Matteblox
Petrol LCD shade
I-cuff Eyepiece
Kata Raincover (just in case)
15 extra Sony DV tapes (new and unopened)
Extra large battery
and
Portabrace bag (I think it is the mini DV case CSDV-4u?) It was big enough to hold camera, accessories, and tapes without a problem.

I am asking $1,500.00 for the package. Let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.

Thanks Brian

Hello Brian...

Was wondering what the outside diameter of the Tiffen 0.58x wide angle adapter?

Also, if you're willing to sell it seperately I might be interested if it will fit my underwater housing.

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to let the community know that I've got a brand new BLUE CamKote XL2 up for auction on eBay. As the XL2 watchdog review told, it's an excellently made rainslicker, and I'm selling it in brand new condition for a pretty good price. They're also somewhat difficult to find (when I ordered mine the maker told me that for an XL2 slicker it would take 1 month since they were overwhelmed with orders, but I finally got one earlier than expected).

I'm not a merchant or anything, just a film guy who has sold his XL2 and associated accessories trying to save up for a new HD camera. If anybody is interested just check it out, and if there are any questions I'd be more than happy to answer anything.

Here is the link to the auction:
*Admin Bonk*

I've also got a "Tiffen Video Essentials DV Kit" filter kit up for auction as well. I've got a mattebox now so don't have too much need for screw on filter types, but they're pretty good to protect the lens and give basic UV and Polarizing abilities. Here:

*Admin Bonk*

Thanks for anybody's interest. (I apologize in advance if this is not the correct forum location for such posts, if this is the case than I'll be glad to delete this post myself and move the thread elsewhere). Have a great day.

I'm really surprised that Chris moved this, instead of siting the rules about not posting ebay auctions. There is a sticky thread somewhere about this.

John Rivers
March 27th, 2006, 11:22 AM
Like I mentioned I'm new to this whole "selling equipment" thing since I'm not a merchant. I posted the items on eBay, but I understand that this is a very niche field, so I figured I'd open the offer to people who would actually find something like this useful.

Heheh, I think I've already learned a lesson from this: while eBay might work for mainstream consumer items, when the item your selling appeals to possibly under 5% of the population (filmmakers with a Canon XL2 or XL-H1 who don't have a rainslicker yet), it becomes a little less helpful.

Ah well, now I know. =)

I believe Chris just misread it, probably because of the title.

Chris Hurd
March 27th, 2006, 11:28 AM
Yup, I misread it.

I saw "for sale" in the thread title and moved it here without looking closer. As you know, "for sale" is not at all the same thing as "for auction." Items on Ebay are not for sale. They're for auction. There's a huge difference.

Sorry but no Ebay auctions are allowed on this site -- if you have something on Ebay, then you do not need DV Info Net in order to find a bidder. They'll get to you on their own. The niche for these items is not nearly as small as one might think.

Links removed -- thread closed. I guess I need to revamp our policy stuff and make it easier for new folks to get squared away here.

Don't know what the status is on this... would you be interested in just selling the accessories if no-one is buying the cam? I am interested in buying an original canon charger... I'll buy your high capacity batteries too if they are young and fresh...

Not yet, I'm in discussions with a guy, but talk is cheap, so until there is a comitment the camera is for sale. The bump was just to keep it on the first page so people can see it. It is a good deal for a pristine camera and acc.

I have a mint condition Sony PD170 that is no longer needed as we shoot with many cams. This is the NTSC model. No marks except for minor scratches where the tripod mounts. Used as a fourth cam for weddings, stored very well, never rented out, never used to import footage. I can post the hours if needed but that are very low, I doubt it has recorded for 100 hours. Will ship in the original box or can be picked up at our home/office. Comes with almost all original parts and I will include an extra long life battery so you can shoot all day without having to buy anything else. Located in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. Plenty of feedback on various sites if needed. Looking for $2600 CDN for the package, no taxes. That is about 2200US, affordable shipping available to Canada or the US.

Please email with questions or for a phone 905-468-7713.

Well, I guess I don't have to tell you that the Merlin is like new, since it's only been out for a short period time.

I've shot with one a few times, and it's just not for me. It works as advertised, but for the type of events I shoot, my trusty tripod is just more convient. Especially since I often the lone coverage person, responsible for both video and still photos.

The only modification I made to this, was a drilled a small sink hole into the Tripod Adapter Plate. This is so that when mounting it to my bogen QR plate, I could screw it in with the set pin in place, keeping the tripod adapter from spinning.

I'll sell it for $700, buyer pays for shipping and paypal fees if you choose that method of payment.

I have had my Steadicam flyer for a little over a year now, and I have only used it about 4 times. It is practically brand new and now I am leaving the country to travel for a year, so I am selling it.

It comes with a Shotwatcher for wireless video transmission and also brand new Anton Bauer batteries and dual Charger. I have only charged these batteries about 5 times now, so they are practically brand new as well.

Please email me if you have any questions or woudl like to see any pictures of the system.

I am asking $7000 for the system, that price is firm, I will not back down from that price, so please do not waste my time and yours by trying to counter me with a lower price.

Thank You

This is the greatest LCD made right now. I have used it about 4 months and have bought 2 expansion cards ( SDI and HD-SDI cards ). So you are completely ready for HD editing. This really is the sweetest monitor I have ever had, I hate selling it, but I am traveling the world for a year and just can't justify keeping it until I get back.

If you have any questions please email me so I can answer any questions you might have, and send you pictures of the unit.

I am asking $4250, and that price is firm considering I spent about 7k when it was new with the monitor and the two cards.
