I've been tossing around the idea of an HC1 myself. You can import one from Japan for right at $1000 but I've yet to find out if they have the option of English menus (not that its a major concern).

Miguel Lombana March 3rd, 2006, 07:30 AM I've been tossing around the idea of an HC1 myself. You can import one from Japan for right at $1000 but I've yet to find out if they have the option of English menus (not that its a major concern). well suggestion, don't wait too long now that they're discontinued the stock is about to drop steadily and compared to it's replacement, it actually outpixels the HC3 that's due to replace it. Right around 1300 for a new one at the major retailers, 1500 at Best Buy and Circuit City, I don't do the gray market stuff so I can't tell you if your idea would work, always a risk. Good luck, I know that from what I've been told, this is a great little camera to play with. Yarock March 7th, 2006, 04:25 AM mark, Yes, I'd be interested inone or two, but need to speak to you about it. Bruce yarock Dean Sensui March 7th, 2006, 04:57 AM Ken... If you can't find what you're looking for, then do what I did when shipping expensive equipment: Get polyurethane foam cushion material from a home supply store. Keep in mind that distance between equipment and the outer wall of the box should be at least 2 inches for protection against crushing and dropping. And with a sharp fillet knife you can cut out the appropriate shapes in the foam to fit the gear. Be sure to wrap the camera and lens with plastic to protect against inevitable foam particles. Hope this helps. Mark A. Foley March 7th, 2006, 06:16 AM Mark, May I ask how much usage each drive has had and your reason for selling. Also, does the package include: - the original 6-pin to 4-pin FireWire cables - AC Adapter for each You mention, "This package will include one extra Firestore battery plus 2 external NiCad battery packs..." Is this in addition to the original removable Li-Ion rechargeable battery that came with each drive. Thanks for any additional info. Kevin Yes it included the AC adapter and firewire cables... There is a total of 4 batteries (3 included and one addtional)...plus the extra nicads battery packs Patrick Moreau March 7th, 2006, 07:55 AM Hey Dylan, I work with a couple people who were trying to move Canon's. One had to let his XL1-s go for $2500 (your asking price) which much more extras and very good condition. The other sold his XL1 for $2k with standard extras. These were both in Canada and off ebay so the figures are comparable and they both had their cameras for sale for a good 4 months. Just a heads up as you are looking to move them quick. Patrick Gault March 7th, 2006, 09:33 AM If the kit doesn't sell, I would consider it! Jeremy Hughes March 7th, 2006, 09:45 AM Theres some stuff in there I'd be interested in too if you break up the kit Dylan Couper March 7th, 2006, 10:51 AM Good point. I dropped the price to $4500cdn, but subject to negotiations of course. |
