Has anyone used 24p for stereoscopic 3D? Does it work better or worse than 30p?

Alister Chapman February 12th, 2009, 01:34 AM I use 25P and it works fine for me. The only difference would be in motion which would be smoother at at 30P. All movies are done at 24P. Tim Dashwood February 12th, 2009, 04:45 PM I shoot 24P S3D all the time. Genlock is even more essential though at lower frame rates. Aric Mannion February 17th, 2009, 10:05 AM I asked because I read an article that said a higher framerate probably works better because "James Cameron found 48 (or so) to his liking." But RealD is 48 only because it flickers back and fourth, alternating the two 24p (or so) videos. So this guy must have just been assuming that a higher framerate provides better 3D?? Tim Dashwood February 17th, 2009, 05:21 PM Real-D is still 24fps (it would look like film if it wasn't) but each frame or each eye is alternately flashed 3 times, meaning 72Hz for each eye, 144Hz total. |
