Mike Beckett May 13th, 2010, 06:48 AM Hi all,
The time has come for me to part with this beautiful beast of a tripod, sadly.
I've changed cameras and it's overkill for my new camcorder, it barely touches the minimum balance setting. Haven't a clue what I will replace this with, probably an FSB-2 or FSB-4 setup.
This tripod is the predecessor to the new Sachtler FSB-8 tripod. (I remember they released the FSB range in the UK a month after I purchased!)
Specs for the DV6-SB kit are:
DV6-SB Head:
Payload 1-10 kg (2-20lbs, I think). The "happy range" is somewhere in the middle - My Sony V1E was just at the low end of what was acceptable.
+ 10-stage counterbalance (1-10kg)
+ 5 levels of drag (5 pan, 5 tilt)
+ Touch & Go "small" plate for mounting the camera
+ Sliding plate for further balance adjustment
Legs:
Carbon Fibre legs, Speedlock, with quick set-up, mid level spreader, spike legs/red rubber feet
These legs can support up to 20kg, I believe. Not that I ever got near that!
Misc:
- Manual
- Sachtler tripod bag
- Sachtler Shoulder strap (not part of the original kit)
This sold for £1600, two years ago. The tripod has been babied, loved and cared for, without a mark on it that I can see.
Equivalent prices for the new FSB6 with CF legs is £1600, the FSB-8 version is around £1700 - including VAT.
The only thing I don't have is a shipping box (it didn't come with one), but it will ship in the bag, bubble-wrapped to within an inch of its life.
I've sold tripods and other items on here before, you can search for feedback.
Asking price for this is £900, including UK shipping. These tripods hold their value, and will last for years. I can accept payment by Paypal.
I don't mind shipping to mainland Europe, but I would need to figure out the cost.
I can post pictures later if required.
John Benton May 13th, 2010, 10:44 AM I have the 4000 sled

Ethan Cooper May 14th, 2010, 11:01 AM I'm a Kessler novice so bear with me here. Without the remote head how does one control the camera movement other than booming? Does it simply become an auto leveling head at that point?

Mike Beckett May 14th, 2010, 12:35 PM Withdrawn from sale.
I have decided to hang onto this. The HMC41 is a bit tiny on top, but it just about balances, and boy is it a good tripod.
Tim Kahn May 14th, 2010, 01:02 PM Can you run the camera from the bottom battery? Also does it come with a case?
If your camera has an Anton Bauer mount, the camera can run from the sled/bottom battery. I am including the cord and the battery plate. It comes with the original soft case and all original accessories (stand, cables, etc).
What kind of audio stuff are you looking for?
I would be interested in some things like Sound Devices recorders, Schoeps or Sennheiser matched pair microphones, and I'm certainly interested in other similar things, partial or full trade possible.
Thanks!
Brad Owens May 14th, 2010, 02:03 PM I'd love it but I'm not in the market for one till late August. Had a budget for practically the same thing for $2500.
Tim Snyder May 14th, 2010, 02:06 PM It is an auto-leveling crane and as well as having the ability to tilt with the crane attached to the Hercules Head.
You can't pan it other than swinging the arm. And at the full extension 18' and 12' you have to lock off the hercules head for safety. However, in the 8' and 5.5' configurations you can use your tripod head.
This link should help you - http://www.kesslercrane.com/images/stories/video/mov/Modes%20-%20All%203.mov
It shows how this works. Kessler doesn't recommend this in the 12 or 18 configuration though.

Steve Benjamin May 14th, 2010, 02:27 PM Hi Tim

Roze Hanks May 15th, 2010, 03:01 PM Hi All...
Just wanted to hear opinions on a decent editing desk, why you like what you have and any suggestions? I cannot afford the $2-3,000 that some of these things cost so looking for good leads on where to find a used one or maybe if someone has made one?
Sort of like the kidney bean shaped desks that have another smaller shelf on top of the bigger one. Has anyone found a good alternative from maybe Office Depot or something like that? Thanks in advance for any advice.
DVInfo.net ROCKS!!! The folks here are truly awesome! Chris... you started a great thing dude :-) More soon.... Peace, R
Attached is a photo of pretty nice desk... just wish it had a smaller shelf layer in the back. Ideas? THANKS!
Stephen Mick May 15th, 2010, 04:19 PM I picked this up from B&H about a year ago, and have decided to part with it. Why? Well, I figure if I'm going to drop a wireless system in the ocean (which is where I spend most of my time shooting), it might as well be a cheaper wireless system.
So…
(1) Lectrosonics LMa Transmitter
Lectrosonics | LMa Frequency-Agile Digital Hybrid UHF | LMA-21
(1) Lectrosonics UCR100 Receiver
Lectrosonics | 100 Series - UHF Portable Receiver | UCR100-21
(2) Lectrosonics Mini to XLR Cables
Lectrosonics | Mini to XLR Output Cable for UCR100 | MC100XLR
No mic is included here, just the items mentioned above. All gear is in perfect working order, with some very minor cosmetic blemishes. I'll also include a B.E.C. Group hotshoe-mount receiver holder for free.
First $950 via Paypal (shipping included to CONUS) takes the package.
Robert Richardson May 15th, 2010, 07:38 PM Bad links...
Stephen Mick May 15th, 2010, 07:48 PM Fixed now, I think.
Michael Wisniewski May 15th, 2010, 08:24 PM If you're looking for inexpensive but solid, the Studio RTA Recording Work Stations (http://www.studiorta.com/catalog/list.cfm?category_id=31) are a good bang for the buck. I've had a few of these and been quite happy. Hard to beat the prices. They are delivered un-assembled so have power tools and a friend or two ready to help out.
Roze Hanks May 15th, 2010, 10:00 PM Hey Michael... I have never seen these before. AWESOME!!! Exactly the type and price I was hoping for. Dude you are stellar :-) We even have a "Guitar Center" here in 'pod dunk' south Louisiana where I live. I cannot thank you enough! Will be going there tomorrow to get something.
Have a great weekend! God Bless, Roze
Matt Hoffert May 16th, 2010, 07:35 AM sold pending payment
Michael Wisniewski May 16th, 2010, 10:12 AM I have two extra licenses/serial numbers for this software. Paypal only. Buyer pays any shipping fees if applicable. Serial numbers are valid for upgrades to newer versions.
