What cineform preset do I use in Premier cs3 for footage shot in a xha1 at 24p. The prospect hd 1440x 1080 24p, or The prospect hd 1440x 1080 23.976p. And any special settings in the preferences in HD link?

David Taylor February 9th, 2009, 10:10 AM In the case of video cameras, "24p" always means 23.976. Bob Jerome February 16th, 2009, 09:07 AM In the case of video cameras, "24p" always means 23.976. I thought some of them (HV20 etc...) had true 24p? So what's the impact on quality to interpret footage to 24p from XHA1 24F or HV20 24p? Is that recommendable or it's better to use the 23.976 platform. Just as an FYI, I WANT 24p not 23.976. That's why I bought the cameras and Prospect HD. I want to achieve 24p. David Newman February 16th, 2009, 10:02 AM There is no partical different between 23.976 and 24p, they are interchangable. You can easily convert one to the other using NEO HD or Prospect HD. However you are mistaken to think you want 24.0 vs 23.976, 23.976 is what you need for DVD/BluRay output. Or can we use the 24 platform and when exporting change the frame rate to 23.976? David Newman February 16th, 2009, 10:38 AM Stick with 23.976 throughout your workflow, it is easier to available frame blending and audio sync errors than can occur at 24.0 (given that 23.976 is the more common.) |
