Here's a silly gripe about the Z7U, however some (such as myself) might find it to be a viable issue. If I'm trying to migrate away from tapes, and use the CF option as my primary media, how can I turn off that annoying flashing yellow "no tape" warning that generally appears when you either have no tape in the camera or less than 5 minutes of tape left? Even turning off all the icons using the "display/batt info" button does not work.
Any ideas? Maybe all I really need is someone to tell me to just deal with it. But I don't want to have to :)

I tried to delete this thread. If figured it out - I had to change the menu: in/out rec: ext rec ctrl to ext only.

Leave the thread. It has been something that I have wondered too, but never taken the time to look up.
Do you mind giving a more step by step?
Would make it easier for anyone in the future who is wondering about this & doesn't want to go AFK to get the answer from the manual in the file cabinet. Plus too much information about how to use things usually doesn't hurt.

Under the In/Out Rec section of the menu, if you have selected "Relay" or "Synchronous" under the "Ext Rec Ctrl" mode, you will get the flashing no tape warning. If you select "Ext Only", it goes away, since it is no longer looking for a tape.

Yes, exactly. Thanks Greg :)
