Since this is your first post to this board, could you please elaborate
a bit more?

You are talking about quite expensive equipment which you want
to sell after a small amount of time. Can you please indicate why
you no longer have any interest in this equipment? Do you have
a site with pictures that shows the state of the equipment you
are selling?

A bit more information and background would be welcomed.
Thank you in advance and please post your e-mail address with
your response so that people can e-mail you when interested.

Duplicate 5 VHS tapes at a time. Five (5) professional Panasonic VCRs (AG6810 and AG6810s--weigh about 30 lbs each). One distribution amp, one system remote control (eject, rewind, stop and record functions). Here is how it works, connect your video source to the distribution amp, load blank tapes in the VCRs, and hit record on the remote control. We'll even throw in 25 Emtec/BASF 60 min. superHQ blank tapes and nearly a full case of black VHS sleeves.

Bought the system reconditioned (the distrib. amp and remote control are new) for $1400, and it works great. We used this system for one project to avoid the locally inflated cost of duplication (we saved a bundle doing it ourselves--it paid for itself and then some with the one project) and we are now downsizing our video business and sadly don't have room it.

See a picture at http://www.amarillo4sale.com/uploads/08Dec2002_copy.jpg. Email me if you're interested.

Yes, Please forgive my ignorance as I am new this the DVinfo.net community. After going through 2 seperate shoots with the 35mm adapter, it is apparent to me that the ideal set up for this equipment is to have something along the lines of a Cooke s4 prime lens to obtain the optimum look that I am looking for. Unfortunetely, such a lens is not in my budget as of this time, so I will stay with the stadard set up on my XL-1S, and try to add my effects in post. I do not have a website set up currently, but would be happy to email pictures to anyone who may be interested. I attempted to send the item back to ZGC, but I had waited past the 30 day time to return, so thats why I am looking to sell the equipment. I can be reached at rick@peakmarketing.biz

Thanks,

I have a nearly new jvc hrdvs3u for sale. It is a combo mini-dv/s-vhs vcr. It works perfectly. I am selling it because it is not very compatible with my AVID system. It will work with nearly any other non-linear editor, AVID is just very picky. I would like to sell the unit for $800. It includes a four year MACK warrantee. I would also consider trade. Please email me at patrick_reardon@hotmail.com if you are interested.
Thanks

Your profile does not say where you live. It might be helpful to tell people where you are since those that live closest might want to do business with you.

I was playing around eBay and discovered these sellers that will sell you a link for $10 that will place you into a Matrix that will allow you to receive free electronics, e.g. DCRVX2000's and XL-1s'. From my understanding, this is how it works:

You go to this website that will have eBooks for sale, after you buy an ebook, you will be placed in a list of people that will receive free stuff. So if the matrix had 25 people, and you were you enter into the matrix as number 25. The person currently number one will then receive his or her item and the person placed second now becomes number one. This goes on until you become number 1.

This sounds a lot like a pyramid scheme. I guess the only way it is even legal (if it is legal) is that they have circumvented the law by saying that you are actually buying an item (ebook). Ebooks are appropriately priced, ofcourse, so that the 25 people who has prepaid will have accumulated enough money as a whole to buy the item and make profit for the sponsor of the list. For instance, a list for a DCR-VX2000 with a 25 people will require something like a $200 ebook, so in turn these 25 people have raised $5000 to pay for a camera that RETAILS for $2999 which will leave $2001 profit for the matrix sponsor.

The problems are that if the list doesn't fill no one gets anything. Then there is always the question of legality.

What do you guys think? Creative marketing or SCAM? I think this is a scam myself and urge everyone to steer clear. Thanks.

Ken Tanaka

This scheme has been discussed here. It is a pyramid scheme. Stick with a reputable vendor or seller for your gear.

Dylan Couper
March 27th, 2003, 11:10 PM
Pyramid schemes like this one are still illegal in the US, right?

And it's definitely a pyramid scheme.

Garret Ambrosio
March 27th, 2003, 11:43 PM
I don't know the exact statute but I think the reason pyramid schemes are illegal is because they consist of people spending money on no hard item or service which in turn makes it illegal because you are buying an ebook this may circumvent the law, I think or they hope. But it sounds way to fishy and fradulent.

Ken Tanaka
March 27th, 2003, 11:52 PM
Like nearly all such schemes it will probably escape law enforcement action until it collapses...which, of course, is too late. The scheme's managers are mistaken if they think that "ebook" will clear them.

Canon VL-10li light $100
Canon BP-945 (4500mAh) battery $150
BP-941 (5250mAH) battery $120
UV filter to protect lens $20
Canon MA-100 XLR microphone adapter/shoulder pad $250
Lightwave MiniMount (shock absorber) $135
Lightwave Equalizer (windscreen for ME66) $135
Sennheiser ME66 Shotgun Microphone with battery power $379
Soft carrying case for accessories $50
Hard case with custom foam for XL1s (Cases Plus) $250
XLR cables 1ft and 10ft for Shotgun microphone $30

The camera alone sells for $3500, add the accessories and you have a full kit worth over $5000. The camera has been used for less than 100 hours of taping, using only Panasonic AY-DVM63PQ (professional quality) tapes. The camera was bought May 13, 2002 so it is still under the Canon 1 year warranty. I am starting a new job so I will not be able to use the camera for at least 6 months, so I am selling it instead.

I am trying this board first and then will go through E-Bay if necessary, I live in Gainesville, FL and am looking for around $3500.

Thank you everyone!

I have a Nebtek 5.5" LCD. It is in perfect shape and comes with a shoe mount, RCA cable and uses Canon NP style Lith-ion batteries. I bought it from ZGC a few months ago to use with my XL1. It is a really nice monitor, great for interviews or letting other folks see what you are shooting. New it sells for $530. I would like to get $425 for it and I will pay the shipping.

Here is a link to see the monitor at ZGC
http://zgc.com/html/nebtek_5_inch_monitor.html

I also have the little 10 watt shoe mountable Canon light. It also accepts the NP style Lith-ion batteries. It is in new condition and I have the original box. $60 and I pay the shipping.

I just wanted to follow up after buying the Canon light from Will.

I don't want to sound like ebay, but here goes.

Recently upgraded to a Panasonic AG-DVX100, so I'm looking to sell my Canon XL1 for $2299, bundled with some other goodies....

Includes:

*XL1 w/ original 16x servo lens
*Canon On-Camera light
*Two extra batteries
*Soft case
*All things that came with the camera originally, including manual, battery charger, small battery, etc.
*Bogen tripod w/ 3130 head

Been used to shoot weddings primarily, along with a few other shoots, including a short film.

Caveats:

*Handle zoom and handle record button do not function properly, however normal zoom rocker and normal record button work perfectly. (very common on used XL1's I hear)
*Will eventually need new heads, although works great right now, as I have tried to preserve the heads by using it only for shooting, instead using an Optura Pi as playback and record for editing purposes.
*As with many DV cameras, sometimes the XL1 has a hard time playing back other DV camera's tapes, and vice versa.

Anyway, wanted to be upfront about all of that, so I don't wind up with one unhappy camper. All and all, it's been a great camera to me, and I hope whoever picks it up will take at least as good care of it as I have.

Thanks....

Todd Mattson
