Ross Weinshenker December 16th, 2003, 07:13 PM Great! Would you be possibly interested in a trade for an XL1? Let me know.

Trond Halle December 16th, 2003, 09:54 PM What a world we live in. I finally found a used PD150 at a good price...eight blocks away from my house. But it took using the internet and this cool forum to find it. It may not be a straight line, but it worked.
Thanks to all who replied.

Matt Pope December 17th, 2003, 07:25 AM As I'm in film school now, I haven't really needed much of my equipment any more. I'd entertain reasonable offers for this stuff - it's all in excellent/like new condition and there are no cosmetic or fuctional problems with any of it... Please contact me soon if interested - otherwise I'll probably just ebay it...
1) Sony WV-DR5 DV/VHS Deck
- This is a really awesome deck if you haven't seen it. It was only sold in Japan and has recently been discontinued, so they go for an arm and a leg now on ebay. I had a friend track one down for me in Hiroshima, and this was the only one he could find. Anyway, if you're looking for a DV deck, this was in my opinion the absolute best option available less expensive than the Sony DSR series. (I'm using the DSR11 now at school and like this one much better...) I've got some links somewhere to reviews I found online when I was looking if you're interested. Anyway...
- Dual-Deck - accepts miniDV and full size DV on one side, VHS on the other.
- Fully compatible with pretty much any edit system as far as I know.
- Only records to DV, but will read DV and DVCAM
- There are too many specs to go into, but if you're interested I'd be happy to chat about it.
- Purchased new in October/November of 2002
- Currently selling in the $1500 range if you can find them. I'd probably be looking for something in the $1000 or slightly over range...
2) Lowel light kit
- Almost brand new - just purchased April 2003 from Showcase in Atlanta, so I think it's still under warranty... very minimal typical wear and tear (just slight browning of the scrims...)
- Includes:
- 1 Omni-light w/ 500watt bulb and 4-way barndoors
- 1 Tota-light w/ 750watt bulb and frame
- 1 Pro-light w/ 250watt bulb and 4-way barndoors
- 3 Bogen/Manfrotto stands (much sturdier than the Uni's that were supposed to come with the kit)
- 2 Tota frames
- 2 Tota gel packs (include CTB, diffusion, ND, etc.)
- 1 Tota-brella (umbrella)
- Soft carry-case (LB-35) with dividers that holds everything pretty comfortably
- My cost was around $1100. I'm open to reasonable offers.
3) Westcott Backdrop Stand and "Canberra" (Dark Grey) 10x12 Backdrop
- These were purchased from Wolf Camera's 14th Street location in Atlanta in April 2003
- Stand is sturdy black: includes 2 (9' or 10'?) stands (similar to light stands) and a 3-piece crossbar that extends to about 12'.
- Stand comes with a very hand carry-case with strap.
- Backdrop is a backdrop - high quality, large enough to cover most any background and has a built-in rod-pocket to hang it on the Westcott stand...
- Both are in perfect condition, only used about a half-dozen times.
- Both new are close to $300. Maybe looking for mid to high $100's... Make an offer!
As I said, please let me know if you have any questions. I'd ship it as soon as payment is received for whatever my shipping cost is.
Thanks!
Matt

Chris Hurd December 19th, 2003, 08:24 AM Robert knows better than to break up that package. I'll be in a similar position myself shortly, trying to sell a 1998 XL1, and it's all the extra toys you throw in that make such a thing sell-able.
Robert Mann Z. December 19th, 2003, 09:22 AM Chris,
Is 2,000 a fair price?
What will you be selling your kit at?

Chris Hurd December 19th, 2003, 10:15 AM Robert, I think you hit it right on the nail. $2000 is exactly what I was going to ask for mine, with a similar crop of extras.

Chris Pelker December 22nd, 2003, 01:39 AM The camera is STILL available as of 12/21. People, I cannot emphasize this enough: DO NOT e-mail me telling me that you are interested and want to buy unless you are really ready to buy w/ cash in hand (pending of course your questions and/or photo requests). I've received several "I'm interested" e-mails where people have not responded/flaked out after my replies.
Robbie Smolinsky December 22nd, 2003, 08:53 AM You've got mail!
Glen Elliott December 22nd, 2003, 11:33 AM Thanks- I'm at work right now and the proxy blocks checking Yahoo mail so I'll have to wait till this evening to check it. I have, however sent you a message from my work address. Thanks again.
Ross Weinshenker December 22nd, 2003, 12:00 PM Well, not that it much matters, but I'm still interested.....I just have to get rid of mine too.
Robbie Smolinsky December 22nd, 2003, 12:31 PM Hi all, I just wanted to say this is an awesome camera!!! Happy holidays to all!

Brian M. Dickman December 22nd, 2003, 04:59 PM Items for sale:
Rolls PM50sOB personal headphone monitor/amp, battery powered. Passthrough XLR (one male, one female) plus 1/4" in for additional aux monitoring. Headphone jack (1/4" and 1/8"), pots for mic and aux headphone levels. This is a good device for inline mic monitoring, such as for a boom operator who is sending his signal back to an off-body recording device. Like new except my soundman added a belt clip to the back. Just makes it that much more useful. $50 including shipping, OBO.
http://www.rolls.com/new/pm50sob.html
ProMax SteadyTracker. Handheld balance/"steadycam". This is the "lite" version for GL1/2 or VX2000/PD150 sized cams, not the XL1. Not a real gimbal mechanism, just a padded shelf to hold your hand at the balance point. Even without a gimbal, the system still works pretty well, and handles nicely. No major blems, still looks classy and professional, Very Good condition. $100 including shipping, OBO. There's a demo on the website showing the balance procedure (in 30 seconds), and some demo footage/shots. Will include the demo video that came with the package, 20 minutes of "how to use" and demo footage.

Mike Avery December 23rd, 2003, 09:19 AM Hi Dylan,
That's a good lens, at a good price.
I'm surprised it hasn't been snatched up yet. If I didn't already have a 16x manual, I'd be all over it.
Good luck,
Mike Avery

Nick Medrano December 26th, 2003, 11:49 AM This is an odd request, but I recently lost a part to my ProMax Cobra Crane (it's an older model) and Promax no longer has this part in stock. It's the steel cable that acts like a pulley system on the crane. Can anyone help?
Adam Lubkin December 26th, 2003, 08:36 PM Still available. I'm going to put it on ebay after New Years so make an offer if you're interested. adamsculpt@yahoo.com. I'll be out of town for a few days next week but will respond when I get back.
Mike Rehmus December 27th, 2003, 12:15 AM You can purchase steel aircraft cable and the fittings from most good hardware stores, boat stores and aircraft supply houses.
There is nothing special about the cable and you can measure the length you require for your crane by using string to wrap around the pulleys and connect to the turnbuckle. Then you can measure the string and then order the cable and fittings.
