I was wondering how to get the "light flare" effect. Only thing i can think of calling it. haha.
Example: REDMUSICONLINE | INNOCENCE & INSTINCT | 02.10.09 (http://redmusiconline.com)
Some at 25 seconds during the orange tinted scenes.
Not sure if it's captured during filming or added in post?
Thanks!

Sure looks like it's done in post. AE, MBL and Boris FX all have tools that could do it. Without knowing what the light source looks like (they appear to be a round lights) it's hard to know exactly what they did.
It might have been done with a huge glow behind a matte. You could do that in about anything.
MBL has some light effects that might work but I don't use them so I cannot really comment.
AE has what I think they call "CC Light Rays". Setting the effect behind a matte might create that effect.
Boris FX have caboodles of light effects. Again, setting one up behind a matte might get you there.
You might be able to create the effect without a matte by tweaking the threshold parameter in the light effect. The lights should be substantially brighter than the talent in the shot.
HTH.

Thanks Tripp! I'll try it out in a few days. Start filming a music video in about an hour and half and hope to use that effect in it some of the shots.

Lots of ways to get that FX.... here's a plugin that has some pretty good value as it
has lots and lots of ways to play around with FX to do a music video...
