My boom poles are just too damn long to take on location!
Mainly remote tough terrain - Himalayas soon, Tibetan plateau etc. Lots of hand carrying. And also, its best not to show too much professional equipment, if you know what I mean.
I do have an assistant with me and I like to use a boom as much as possible. Is there a small boom solution - less than 24 inches folded?
cheers!

K-tek has 7 Klassic poles which are 24" or shorter, shortest is 1'4".
4 graphite Avalon poles under 24"
2 Avalon aluminium poles under 24"

that is just one boom brand...

Man for this one I'd want rugged and economical. K-Tek aluminum I'd say.

Hi Jay -
No pole yet. My boom pole is 32 inches min. length, which is OK if I take my tripod bag.
On this trip - leaving this Sunday, I cannot take my tripod bag.
I wasted a week, because I ordered a K-Tek, which turned out to be 31 inches and not the 24 inches as promised. I just returned it.
So I have run out of time I think - maybe a hacksaw to my boom!!
