View Full Version : one tape, different frame rates? Janson Williams January 26th, 2009, 06:58 AM is it ok to record onto the same tape footage shot in 60i and 24p i know not to shoot HD and SD on same tape ~thanks Annie Haycock January 26th, 2009, 07:04 AM It can be done, but is likely to confuse your editing program when you download it. If you have to do it, record about 10 seconds of colour bars at the change, so you can find/be reminded of it later. Better to use two separate tapes, clearly marked with the frame rate. Janson Williams January 26th, 2009, 07:33 AM right on, thanks again Annie Benjamin Steeples January 29th, 2009, 12:53 AM Totally agree with Annie. FCP esp will choke on different frame rates, causing lots of frustration. My Avid isn't very happy dealing with it either. Do the color bars between frame rates and keep a log book or some record so that you can easily reference later. Also make sure to stop your capture before you hit the frame change. |
