I am iterested in doing some architectural studies with the JVC HD10u, any suggestions for a quality wide angle lens that won't break the bank?

You might want to try Canon's WD-58H, 0.7x.
I got this for my 52mm GY-DV301, using a 52 to 58mm converter ring.

In both telephoto and wide settings, images are crisp and clear without distortion and you may hook it on permanently.

JVC makes a WA for the cameras--at least in Japan. Contact a JVC dealer for a GL-V0752 0.7X.

JVC also makes an underwater housing, the WR-HD1.

Steve, how does this JVC wide angle adaptor compare with the other wides on the market? Does this JVC wide come with filter threads in the front?

I don't have any details on the JVC WA. I suspect it is not available in the USA.

i would go to a camera store and try before i bought.

And I'd go with a 52mm.

It is quite hard to get the JVC WA lens here, Singapore. It is the same model used for other consumer models such as DV3000
