I just installed Quicktime 7.6 on my machine. I don't like jumping to conclusions, BUT it seems like the screwy levels problem has possibly been FIXED!! Can anybody else confirm what I'm seeing?

Mark Moreve January 21st, 2009, 03:14 PM Hi This is the link to some more information about the Quicktime update. Seemingly it improves single pass h.264 encoding quality ! ( whatever that means!) Hopefully its good though. In this instance we're more concerned about how it passes data to the various applications upon decode. So far it's looking pretty good for me (from a levels standpoint), though the histograms are still showing some gapping. Also, in one project I had worked on in vegas using cineform hdv transcodes, I just tried to rerender the project using the source .mov files and it crashes vegas. grrr....... |
