Question for you guys. We are having issues trying to downconvert our EX-1 video for broadcast. We can load it in fine but the video looks like crap when we convert it to SD 4X3.

I know we should leave it full HD, but we only have two EX cameras, the rest old DVC Pro, and our station wants it downconverted.

Thanks for the help!

Mike

Won't clip browser be the easiest and fastest way ?

Paul.

If they are on PC, Newscutter may not read the Sony MXF files. Vegas sure won't read the Avid MXF.

Thanks guys, basically this is what I am doing........

1. First I put the HD shots on the timeline and put the 4 x 3 effect on it – bad

2. Second I created a SD bin and imported the HD clip into the SD doing the down convert on the import – bad

3. Third I created a new SD project and imported the HD down converting on the import - bad

Thanks,

Mike

Number 1 should be fine but don't forget to render. Doing it realtime will look bad. I would also recommend experimenting with adding an unsharp mask (Boris).
