Hi Folks,
I am a wildlife photographer using an XL2,300mm lens.Manfrotto 351/503 plus all the usual accessories which I am sure you will know is very heavy and bulky.
As I often have to walk and climb great distances and sometimes have to fit into very small spaces. I am looking to purchase a SMALL pocket size camera which will be compatable with the XL2, 16X9, and give results which I can edit into XL2 aquired film without to much loss of quality.
Does anyone else do this and can recomend a suitable camera.

Have you considered the Canon GL2? Or the HV30, then just down convert the footage. Just throwing out some ideas...

The HV-20 and HV-30 fit your bill perfectly.

I blush to confess; my 2nd camera is this tiny silly 7.1MP Canon SD500, which, by the way, I always keep it in my car in case something comes up worth filming (it does 30 f/s). Here's one of those inane clips: YouTube - 2008 Easter Ride to Mt. Tam - San Francisco (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FRtbMu_evc)

It's obviously not a substitute for an XL2, not even by a long stretch, but the nice thing with a dinky camera is that people don't realize that you are actually shooting a video.
