I'm intent on separating a ME66 from a DVX100 for interviews, and I'm essentially acting solo. Do these following elements add up?:

Gitzo 556
Boom Mate Pole Holder w/ 2 1/2" Matthew Grip Head
lighting stand (?)

What shockmount would work best with this? Am I missing anything?

I have two setups. On camera and off I use an AT8415 shock mount ($50 or less).

I use a mandrotto or Avenger combo boom stand or a cheapo mic stand with a boom for tight spaces. My smurfy little black mic stand only cost me $40 US. For one or 2 people in an interview situation the mic can be boomed from above or the side, just off camera. The 420 combo does a lot better job but then it's more money and more cumbersome to transports and setup.

There is a whole lot better but then I'm a cheap , amateur.

Bryan is right that a cheap mic stand with boom is good enough. However, If you think that you may need a boompole for some other occasions then the boom with a boompole holder is a good setup.

The Audio Technica AT8415 is a very good shockmount.

If you are looking to save a few bucks, B&H also offers a less expensive BoomPole holder.

Thanks...I think the AT 8415 is the most immediate thing to consider; I have a Mighty Wondercam mini-rover; I assume it'll fit on that? My needs are rather simple at the moment, so perhaps a no-frills microphone stand will do for starters.

I also use the mini rover, it's a great little grip. You'll need a camera mount adapter for the shoe, the 8415 has a threaded base. It's only $10 and it's very sturdy.
