View Full Version : New Transcend Express cards 32 Gb
Francois Dormoy January 14th, 2009, 02:23 PM I found in the Transcend web site a new Expresscard of 32 Gb for $99.
It does not clearly say if that card is compatible with the XDCAM-EX1.
Have someone already tried it ?
For that price, it would no longer be interesting to buy SDHC cards that go in a slot of the MxR Adapter...
Ned Soltz January 14th, 2009, 05:08 PM These will not work.

I don't think it ever will say if it is compatible for EX cameras as this MxR/SDHC is actually unapproved at the moment. I tried finding the this cards but I had no luck. Can you post the URL? Depending on if it is like the 16 gig class 6 I think it will work.

Tuomas Sebastien January 15th, 2009, 08:58 AM This question has been asked atleast dozen times... trancscend cards are old news and will not work. Currently no other than official SxS express card (sony, sandisk, jvc) work in EX1/3. Not working express card SSDs include transcend, a-data, delkin or belkin or both, verbatim.
Michael Palmer January 15th, 2009, 11:39 AM Tuomas,
The TRANSCEND 16 gig class 6 SDHC cards together with the MxR work perfectly. I am using them and before I used them for hire I tested and tested them and the Transcend brand is a great SDHC media solution. This is a good source for purchasing.
Newegg.com - Transcend 16GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card w/Compact Card Reader S5 Model TS16GSDHC6- S5W - Flash Memory (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208377)
Francois Dormoy January 15th, 2009, 05:00 PM I found this new Delkn card cheaper than the Sandisk, in the B&H Video Store
Delkin Devices | 16GB PRO Secure Digital (SDHC) | DDSDPRO2-16GB (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=workaround.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=546633&is=REG)
Can someome confirm that it works well with the EX1 and the MxR card adapter

Yes, you are right. I bought one of them. But before deciding to buy about 6 of them, I wanted to choose between Transcend and Delkin which is cheaper and also SDHC Class 6.
So I am waiting for someone to tell me that it does work as well.
Michael Palmer January 15th, 2009, 08:39 PM I just purchased a dozen (12) of these Transcend 16 gig Class 6 SDHC cards. I will testify that yes they work and they work as expected, I ever have a few that can sustain overcranking 720p 24 to 48 fps

The original poster is not referring to Transcend SDHC cards. He is referring to Express Cards. None of these cards work.
Michael Palmer January 15th, 2009, 11:59 PM I swear I thought I could read, this just proves I can't.
My bad.
Chris Paporakis January 19th, 2009, 06:45 PM I also bought 4 of these Transcend 16 gig Class 6 SDHC cards.
They work as expected, I even have sustained overcranking 720p 60 fps, I know it should NOT be possible, but I did it with a few of my cards.
Had the Sony 8 GB card in the other slot and thought I was using that when I set to 720p 60 fps, but it was the Transcend card and they worked fine for an entire 25 min helicopter ride.
There good have ordered more.
Craig Seeman January 19th, 2009, 11:13 PM Are you sure you overcranked?
720p60 is not overcranking.
720p24/60 or 720p30/60 is overcranked.
Ronnie Martin January 20th, 2009, 06:50 AM I have the adapters from Australia and found a 32 gig transend card here
Amazon.com:Global Electronics Storefront (http://www.amazon.com/gp/shops/storefront/index.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sellerID=A3UQRYLSNLAIGO)
Anybody with experience using this card?
Thanks
Ronnie Martin
Ronnie Martin January 20th, 2009, 06:54 AM sorry to answer my own post but now see that it is a class 4 card.
Anybody with experience with a 32 gig class 6 card ? If so.... where can they be purchased?
Thanks
Ronnie Martin
Jay Gladwell January 20th, 2009, 06:55 AM Ronnie, that's not a Transcend card, it's a Kingston card.
"Transcend" is the manufacturer, just like SanDisk or Kingston.
Ronnie Martin January 20th, 2009, 07:03 AM Thanks... Ok let me ask the question again... regardless of the brand..... is there a 32 gig card that will work with the ex series (I have the ex-3) and the adapters that I bought from Australia? If so where can I purchase one?
sorry to be so dumb... spend way toooo much time editing.. I shoud get out more and do more surfing.
Thanks
Ronnie Martin
Jay Gladwell January 20th, 2009, 07:04 AM Google "32GB Secure Digital High-Capacity" and find out for yourself. Or you can do a "search this forum" using the same query. If anyone has, you'll find it.
Tuomas Sebastien January 20th, 2009, 08:26 AM Come on people... THIS TOPIC IS ABOUT EXPRESS CARD... NOT SDHC CARDS... posting here info about SDHCs working will only confuse people.
