I am definitely not paying over $50 for the Canon cable...

Are there certain cables to stay away from? I just want an inexpensive cable that will allow me to playback videos on my HDTV. Since these cables merely carry digital data (unless I am mistaken) I don't see how more expensive cables could possibly result in a better playback...

I have the HG20

thanks,

brian

Try monoprice.com. Any HDMI cable should work fine. I have a variety of them that I have used with my HV20.

I have been using the cable below (I own two of them) for a year and had no problems with them. You can buy it from a nearby Apple Store or order online.

You could also try a dollar store, I bought a 6' one for $10 canadian last week.
You could probably get one for half that online if you googled, but if you want one right away try a dollar store.
