I did a film on an xl1s that I recently sold to buy an XH-A1. Now that I am done with the film I have to bounce it down to a Mini DV tape for a digibeta transfer but I don't have my xl1s anymore....

Can I use the XH-A1 to "print to tape" even tho the project is SD and the new camera is HD? Do I just do it the same way as my xl1s with a standard Mini DV tape?

I am using Vegas 8.0

I use vegas as well. It should not be a problem.

one of the nice things about your A1 is that
it can record in SD as well as in HD(V).
Check your manual, then go ahead
and enjoy your movie!

Do I need to do any settings to the camera as far as telling it to capture as SD or do I just "print to tape" in Vegas like normal and it will capture whatever the project is?

You have to activate HD DOWN to ON and you system wil recognize XHA1 as a SD camera.
