Firstly say thank you to everybody sharing their opinions here, you are great inspiration for new comers!

Dont want to bother or annoy people by starting another post about hypercardioid mics (or just optimum mics for indoor dialogue recordings)
But the thing is that when I was convinced and made an order of getting the CMC 6 plus the MK41, the Schoeps distributor in Europe have told all the shops/stores i have contacted that its possible to get the preamp but not the capsule till about 2 or 3 weeks.
The thing is that I am going to Cuba in 10 days and I need the best mic I can get for capturing dialogue indoors (I am well aware of the humidity in that country, and thats why I wasnt completely happy and secure on getting the Schoeps but...).
Anyway my options are very limited as time is running out:

Sennheiser MKH 40
Sennheiser MKH 50
Audix SC-1
Shure KSM 137
Neumann KM 140/50

Well, I almost decided to go for either the mkh 40 or mkh 50, but I have got from my personal and internet research very diverse opinions about these two mics...
Any thoughts?

If worried about humidity, go with Sennheiser.
Reduced handling noise as well compared to Schoeps.

if you are technically inclined you can deduce a lot (but not everything) about a mic by looking it up at Microphone Data (http://www.microphone-data.com/)

MKH 50.

The 40 is to wide.

Pretty expensive but perfect for the job. Especially if you have a 60 as it will then swap out with the 60 in the windshield.
Having said that, get a Rycote lyre and with the foam it will be fine indoors. That is an easy travel kit too. They might come new with a suspension but I've never used it on a pole. I've used the 40 with that Senn suspension on a stage and it was good so if they ship with suspension clip as well as the usual clip then it might be OK. Try it.

If you want a hyper, it's the MKH 50 - or the new and cheaper (but just as good) MKH 8050.

The MKH 40 (and new MKH 8040) is cardioid.

I'll vote for the MKH-50, it's a sweet mic. While I love the Schoeps, I too have heard from my sound mixer friends in Florida that it is not always a good mic for high humidity. The MKH-50 is a tank and can definitely handle the humidity. Like the sound too, it is great.

I am going to go for the MKH 50, I was also doubting between this one and the new one (8050), but after comparing them, this last one, its quite sensitive on the pole which is where I basically need it.
Its going to be mount it on a Rycote Invision, thats what I have been recommended...
I also guess that in Cuba I need something more reliable in terms of humidity than the Schoeps.

I get the definite feeling that the humidity/Schoeps problem is way over stated. At least I've never had a problem. Still though, we're talking frigging Cuba here. I'd want a backup.

I used to think DC was awful in the summer and Miami wasn't much worse.

Even Singapore wasn't much worse. (Except that it's ALWAYS summer)

Tokyo in the summer is worse. You can grow mold in your navel between the subway station and the office. Next time I go I'll take my 641 with me and see how it works.
