Alright... so I am trying to figure this out :-). Probably something pretty simple but cannot get it figured out.

On my hv30 I had an end of tape search button... how do I do it on the fx1000? If I took a clip, rewound to watch, now cannot find the queue out point... Thanks guys

Page 45 of your manual. You have to assign the END SEARCH function to an ASSIGN button, then just hit the button when you want it to perform that function.

If it is like my V1, I can't get that function to work if I have taken the tape out of the camera and then put it back in.

Yes, the FX1000, Z5, FX1 and Z1 manuals are quite clear that the function does not work if you remove the tape. It's also in the FX7 and V1 manuals but you have to look in the Troubleshooting section, where they say they warn you about this on the page describing END SEARCH, but they don't.

Hi,

the fx1000/z5 seems to remember electronically where the last recording stopped - because recording in the middle of a (used) tape leads to exact this end position when "end searching".

At least if you found the end of tape manually and record one or two seconds, the cam will remember this "end" position again.
