I just bought at BB a GZHD30 for $650, I have not even opened it.

I did read online that the Canon HR or HF 11 with its 24Mbit/sec AVCHD coded and 30p/24P capabilities might be a better choice than the JVC.

Since this is unopened, I thought I'd ask the forum here before I open it.

I am big fan of JVC video camera, I love my JVC GZ-HD7. And I have used HD3 as well, but I would advise you to buy HD7 if can do so, but then you can go for Canon HR/ HF11 they are good cameras! But in HD3 so many features are missing, compare to HD7! Now you have to decide!
