View Full Version : UK Traders for International shipping
Stelios Christofides December 31st, 2008, 06:00 AM Can you guys recommend a reliable UK trader for Professional video equipment (I Want to purchase the Sony HVR-Z5 camcorder) that can deliver worldwide? It is very economical now to purchase from UK as the British pound has sank very low now.
I found these sites:
Welcome to Pro Active - Professional Broadcasting Equipment & Camcorder Packages from Sony, Canon & Panasonic (http://www.proav.co.uk/)
Globalmediapro eShop (http://www.globalmediapro.com/)

ProAV are very good, though obviously I've not tried their international shipping.
CVP (Creative/Mitcorp) are also very good (though shipping may be pricey).
I've no experience of GlobalMedia Pro.

Andy Wilkinson December 31st, 2008, 09:56 AM The UK's Number 1 Apple & Adobe Dealer - Jigsaw Systems Ltd (http://www.Jigsaw24.com) supplied my EX3 and MBP and are also a UK sponsor of DVinfo so that's another one to strongly consider.
Chris Hurd December 31st, 2008, 10:01 AM FWIW, that dealer is no longer a DVi sponsor (just to set the record straight).
Currently I am actively seeking one or two solid, reliable, trustworthy
full-line dealers to service the UK and EU markets on DV Info Net.
Andy Wilkinson December 31st, 2008, 10:43 AM Thanks for the update Chris. I stand corrected... and sorry for any confusion.
Wow, they did n't last long, they only started being a sponsor a few months back! Maybe a sign of our desperate UK economic situation (as is the state of the pound - which the original poster mentioned as the reason for seeking a UK supplier).
Stelios Christofides December 31st, 2008, 12:43 PM Thank you guys for all the info. But it's really unbelievable how the value of the sterling pound dropped against the Euro in such a short time; maybe this will make the British rethink about their policy of not changing their currency to Euro as the rest of Europe.

Colin McDonald December 31st, 2008, 04:46 PM The way things are going, there will be parity between the £ and the Euro within the week anyway :-)
Michael Buckley January 1st, 2009, 05:34 AM Maybe they should change the Euro to GBP instead lol.....
Stelios Christofides January 14th, 2009, 01:14 PM What about this trader?
