Something to do over the holidays...
Shot on a Sony EX1 using frame mode.

There was not much light. Threw in some christmas tree lighting for effect ;)
Amazing what some holiday spirits bring. lol

Ha that is so funny you posted that, I will be doing some stop motion in the next month for our Sequel to John Carpenters, The Thing.

I've worked with it before I know how long it too you to do that. How did you time it to the music so well?

Just a guess, you planned a few of the shots, and then edited them together in time with the music? Looping where you needed it? Maybe stretching or compressing the time to match?

My favorite is the walle drummer. :)

Thanks,
Actually I found that the song's 16th notes lined up close to 3FPS.
Therefore, 8th notes were 6 Frames, quarter notes were 12. Which meant each bar in 4/4 time was 48FPS.

If you set the EX1 to capture 3 frames, this was good enough to capture most.
The fast section where the drummer is playing 16th notes, we had to set the camera to 1 frame to be able to capture motion in between each drum hit.

It helps if you're a musician. I could of done a better job on the guitar, but it was all for fun.

Great work. I'm curious how long it took.

I'm also curious what settings you used to convert before uploading. I recently put up a 13-second clip using the Vimeo FAQ guidelines for HD and the file size seems rather large, and it's certainly nice as sharp and crisp as yours looks.

Thanks.

Thanks Michael.
It probably took us less than 24HRs including throwing it on the timeline.
Since it was all for fun, I did not get fancy with levels in post.

I used Vegas 8c and rendered to 1920x1080 wmv file at "I believe" 20MB/s datarate.
