Ok, I don't have very good luck with monitoring color and light from the LCD screen on the JVC GY HD-200u. It seems to be lacking in size and clarity. To monitor the color balance, focus, etc. from the component out of the JVC would a 19inch wide screen LCD flat panel monitor work with a component to VGA adapter? Or, would one of the 19inch LCD television (720P) Best Buy is selling for just over 200 dollars work well?

Thank you for any advice you can give me.

I'm using an LG 19" HDTV for external monitoring but it's worse than the monitor for colour and exposure.

Honestly, your best bet is to learn to read zebras reliably and set up your viewfinder's brightness using the pluge of colour bars and make any fine corrections in post.

Ok, thank you. I will try to do that then. The 19 inch works for focus though, doesn't it?

Works GREAT for focus. Last summer I paid about $350CDN for it. I'm sure it's dropped some since then.
