I tried toggling the DNR on and off in the menu and don't see changes in the footage, so, when and under what conditions is this advisable to use?
Would this help lessening the grain effect when using the jvc with a 35mmlens adapter?
It this meant to lessen grain when using gain?

I think it stands for "Does Not Respond" haha
Actually I think the effect is very very marginal and very difficult to see.

LOL, thats what I noticed, -er didn't notice!
I was concerned that it might be minimal on a static test, but might impact shooting similar to motion smooth or image stabilize in the case of handycams which I turn off when used with an adapter.

but I vaguely remember people trying it when it the HDPro series first stuck its head up, and if I recall correctly it leaves slight motion trails

There is a marginal improvement and a possibility of motion "trails" so I wouldn't bother using it.

Thank you guys.
I was almost gonna leave it on in my belief it will lessen grain effects from using a 35mm adapter.

You can see the trails if you scrub frame by frame in your NLE. I've often wondered what the intent was for the math. Someone somewhere made the request and made a strong enough argument to get the R&D on the process.
