My first attempt at a video post. We had a big ice storm in the Northeast late last week. You may have heard about the power outages and other nastiness, but I thought I'd show you the upside...

Very good!
How did you get such steady pans/movements (like the first shot of the river). Did you use any presets, filters or anything like that on the camera?

Hi, Mitch. Thanks for the kind words. I used Steven Dempsey's VividRGB preset. Otherwise, just the stock AH-1 on a Libec TH-M20 tripod that I bought last weekend. I'm still not really happy with the compression artifacts that I see in the Vimeo version of the video, though. I look at Steve Dempsey's videos and they look pristine. Maybe it's the codec I'm using to render in SpeedEdit.

Damn that looks cold.
Very beautiful indeed. I thought your pans and tilts were bang on. So often I see pans that are too fast that just kill the shot in my opinion.
Nice!

Very nice! It has a very serene and poetic feel to it. Makes me wish you had actors just to throw them in a scene using that beautiful backdrop.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys! Pretty much anywhere I aimed the camera that day, something beautiful fell into view.
