Ross... just read about problems with Paypal... can I still put my order (to USA) safely ?? just to be sure....

Kind regards and Merry Christmas

Enrique

Hola Enrique,

Paypal are acting more professionally now, we are still deeply suspicious of them, and are searching as hard and as fast as we can for a full blown ecommerce system, so we can leave the PP days behind us.

But in answer to your question, yes our Paypal processing is running smoothly.

Thanks for the interest.

Say where are you in Mexico, my sister-in-law is going to Mexico city, to study the Mayans. Are you near Mexico city?

Hi Peter,

I've got a six pack in the fridge and another chilling out in the freezer for a brother-in-law who just seems to be incapable of buying his own.

But yo are more than welcome, to some of mine. Let me know when yo are in town, and we'll go and sample some more of the local ales, and bars.

All the best for the season.

Ross, I ordered the Airmail post rate (slower) and noticed somewhere signature is required. Is there anyway to estimate delivery date so I can make sure I'm present to sign?

Dang Lou, you bet me to it. I couldn't find a 32GB card for love nor money in Hong Kong. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it, and where did you buy it?

I'm glad the cards are working well for you.

Hi Ross, I got mine at Amazon.com paid a little over $200 and I know I over paid but I have no regrets. I am gonna check out JR.com in NYC to see if they have them available for $150. I am planning to get two more of your cards.

Cheers,

Hi Ross!

Ordered five cards yesterday. Got confirmation from PayPal right away. Should I expect a confirmation from you as well? Also - when will you ship the next batch/my cards?

Thanks!

Hi Ola,

You will receive confirmation of order. We usually ship within 2-3 days of order at most, and have been doing a little better than that. But the order department, (not me for this one), will send you the EMS tracking number as soon as it is available.

Thanks again for the order

Ross.

Thanks for your answer and sorry for the delay (Christmas days).... I live on the north part of the country (Chihuahua), near to the border with US and unfortunately it is far from Mexico City or the original Mayan territories (Yucatan)... anyway, if you need anything just contact me (I´ll be glad to help)... and be ready for my order !!!!!

Kind regards

Thanks for your reply

I purchased Sandisk ultra II 16 GB class 2 cards. They are 100% original , no Chinese fake. is there any problem with these models?

my Macbookpro can read the cards through the slot and efilms adapters but the camera cant. It says "unkowm Media, Please change".

Should I format the cards?

the adapters were not manually checked

warmest regards

Yoram

Hi Yoram,

This is from our FAQ on our site at E-Films ...

Which firmware should I have to use MxR cards?

An MxR card will only work with firmware 1.11_0531 on EX1/EX3. All cameras produced post August 2008 come with this update.

If your camera does not have this update you will have to go back to Sony to have the firmware updated.

There are links on the internet which show you how to update manually, but we highly recommend you use a Sony repair centre to complete it.

You can get the firmware version by hitting the "Cancel" "Select" and "Menu" buttons at the same time and navigating down to the "IF" menu item.

Ross, a while ago you were talking of something which allows the offload of multiple cards at once, has there been any more development ?

Thanks.

Hi Paul,

We've been working on a solution and have finished the design, and are awaiting the prototype of a multi-card adapter for laptops and desktops. We'll have all the details available as we get closer to launch.

But in the meantime, I'll post some pics tomorrow, (I'll have to take them first, mind you), to show you how we have been fudging a multi-card download right now. I must preface this work around is for Windows users only at the moment, sorry about that Mac users, it's not personal.

Thanks Ross.
So this multicard reader, i suppose we can plug x amount of cards into it and my the pc will see it as 1 card, so then clip browser can be opened and see the reader with x cards in it as 1 card ?
Am i on the right lines ?
And you must have a rough idea of a price by now ?

Thanks, Paul.

I like the sound of that card reader everyone’s mentioning!

I was sceptical about these Readers & SDHC’s and put off ordering anything until a week or so ago! After receiving four MxR Cards and four Transcend Class 6 16GB SDHC’s, I found that I love them from a price Vs performance point of view – I’ve gone and order myself another eight of each while I can still affords them!

Other than the acknowledged over-cranking point of view they work flawlessly! Highly recommended!

If any of you have considered doing business with e-films and Ross, don't even hesitate. First, the product is outstanding and works as advertised. Second. I had a problem with my first card and they replaced it without question. They are totally square-shooters. Too bad all companies don't operate as ethically as these guys do.

Hi Ross,

I think I've seen your product on Prestons website in the UK for £50 each, is this the same as your adapter as it'll probably work out cheaper for me to get it there?..

Looks like the same product.

Just as update, my MxRs just arrived safe and sound both with the 'TESTED OK HQ 35 mb/s' sticker on them.

Hi Paul,

Sorry for taking so long to answer, i have been in the process of selecting a new shopping cart... it's not that simple, well not if you want integrated accounting and dispatch. I should have put a post up here, I'll just bet I reinvented the wheel this week.

We're trying a couple of different ideas, and that's the prototypes job to tell us which one works the best.

The idea is to come back to the studio after the shoot, and just plug the cards in and tell the computer to go. Have a coffee/beer/or whatever, but no more sitting in front of the computer waiting for it to download.

Sounds too easy doesn't it?

With regard to price, it's not going to be over the top. We want everyone to have one, so that everyone who has enjoyed a cost saving on the MxR, can now enjoy a time saving on each shoot.

Well, that's the idea anyway.

I'll let you know more as we get closer. It's not months away though.

I don't care what shopping trolley i get as long as the wheels are inline !!
Just joking.

That's ok Ross, i'm sure it'll be worth the wait.
Also are you aware that a UK shop seems to be selling your MXR's ? (Link below)

I had an adaptor that was "sticky". I was all ready to send it back but inserting and removing a card about 20 times fixed it.

I have just ordered a Sony PMW-EX1R and am seriously looking into a PMW-350 for other jobs in the very near future. Is this MxR-adapter already tested in these last generation models, how did it perform and how would it work with the inexpensive Transcend class10 SDHC 32 GB and SDXC 64 GB cards?

Ross Herewini
January 10th, 2011, 07:23 PM
Hi Gabor,

Our MxR and e-LCR adpaters have been tested very thoroughly in the PMW-350 with the Sandisk 64GB SDXC cards. Most users we have talked to with this combination opted to go for the new Sandisk 64GB SDXC card, as they can get so much recording out of it, they can record a whole day on two cards.

The MxR and e-LCR are the only adapters that can record correctly to SDXC.

The Transcend card has also tested fine, but some on this forum were burnt with the Class 6 card, and some fakes, and are reluctant to give Transcend another go.

Ross, Thank you very much for the answer. Two more questions:

Welcome to Transcend Website - SDXC Class 10 Cards (Ultimate) (http://www.transcendusa.com/Products/ModDetail.asp?LangNo=0&ModNo=286)

So I understand the card above is not advisable to use in the MxR adapter? It might cause troubles in the near future?

Where can I buy the last generation MxR adapters in the Netherlands? These two webstores seem to be the only one and are still selling the old version of the adapter, at least the pictures on their website tell so.

Thank you very much for your assistance
